Finished countertops

Here are the completed countertops. Now we have to tile the backsplash and redo the floor.

We also replaced the sink. This required us to cut the hole in the countertop and replace the water faucet and some of the plumbing.

New Countertops

After redoing the kitchen, Steff decided to get new countertops. We went to Ikea for the countertops and then installed them ourselves.

We also painted all the cedar wood panelling that remained in the living room and hallway. We put up a chair rail and repainted the drywall.

Making Progress

Here are the pictures from the project showing some progress. After tearing out the wall, we found that the underlying studs and other boards were old, crooked and randomly placed. So, Steff had to redo the drywall in a few places to cover up the chaos. She then added the new boards to create the shelves.

As you all know, we have been doing a lot of projects inside the house waiting for the mosquitos to leave. Here are the before and demolition pictures from the living room and hallway renovations and the built in bookshelves we made from the studs in the wall. The first picture is the magazine picture which was the inspiration for the bookshelves.

Garden Harvest

I finally picked the pumpkin that grew out of last years discarded pumpkin seeds. I also picked the other things we had growing and arranged them for this picture. I wish I would have had some summer squash left and zucchini to add to the mix because we had those too.

Tooth Brushing

So, Steph brushes Trixie's teeth very frequently and the dog loves it. No kidding! It is quite a sight to see which these pictures don't do it justice. My favorite part is when Trixie is trying to lick the liver-flavored toothpaste while Steph is trying to brush the teeth at the same time.
